Apple Rolled Out Its Next-generation Iphone On July 11

Apple rolled out its next-generation iPhone on last Friday across 22 countries，including the United States, Mexico and Canada. By year's end, the iPhone will be sold in 70 countries. But there is no China and Russia there.

First sales of Apple's new iPhone kicked off in New Zealand on Friday, with buyers, some of whom had camped in line for days, crowded outlets to buy the latest high-tech gadget to hit store shelves.

The new iPhone is an updated version of the original that sold to 270,000 people within days of its June 2007 launch.

AT&T plans to sell the eight-gigabyte model

in the U.S. for US$199 and the 16-gigabyte model for US$299. Its cheapest monthly plan will cost US$70 per month, including 450 minutes of calls and unlimited e-mail and Web browsing.

But Apple iPhone 3G lands last week in Mexico as part of its global debut, selling in Latin America's second-largest market for less than half its planned U.S. price.

And at the same time, IPhone retailed Near $1,000 in Belgium: The 8-gigabyte iPhone retailed for 525 euros ($825), The 16-gigabyte version costs 615 euros ($966).
