Save The Earth Small Time

We are living on a very fragile world. The things we do everyday has contributed to the present state of our planet, but we are not aware of that. We are not aware because what we are doing is only a miniscule portion to the whole picture. And that is the biggest problem. What we are doing is only small to our eyes, but if we add it all up, we have a catastrophe waiting to happen. We believe we are not doing anything wrong but in reality, we are. The simple act of not disposing garbage properly is one such contribution to the decline of our Mother Earth.

We are experiencing first hand, the global changes we, the planet�s most intelligent inhabitants have ushered in due to our negligence. We have stronger storms and hurricanes. We have abnormal rise and fall in temperatures. We have felt the change in our weather patterns. But still, we have done little to reverse or control the adverse effects of global warming.

Global warming is not the concern of the rich countries and definitely they are not solely responsible. We have all made this possible. Now, bigger disasters, famines, floods, are now on our doorsteps. Knocking. Waiting for the door to be opened ajar. And once they are inside the house, chaos will surely ensue. We, as people living in this beautiful earth should stop this from happening. We still can. We have the technology, the resources. What good are our mobile phones and the Internet if we cannot unite to fulfill the same purpose? What good are our LG phones, fully equipped with all the LG cell phone accessories, if we can�t communicate to stop spread the doom that is foreboding over the horizon? What good are our Nextel phone cases, whose sole purpose is to protect our phones, when we, humans, cannot protect our own planet from within? What good are our BlackBerry smart phones, fully enhanced with the latest BlackBerry accessories, if we are not smart enough to know what will happen in the near future? We do not need another Hurricane Katrina

for us to realize there is something wrong with the planet. We do not need another massive snow storm to know we have to do something. We do not need a high body count for us to recognize that the time to act is now.

But it is not too late. Not yet. All we need to do is educate others. Warn them of the impending danger. A danger that can be thwarted if we just fall under a single banner and drive towards the common goal. We just need to be wise and look for solutions ourselves. These solutions need not be big. Start the remedy with the family. Teach kids to segregate domestic waste materials. Have the youth participate in community clean-up drives. Great things do not start from big beginnings. They always start small. This is all what we need to do. It is the small things that we do that can spell our future. The small things always matter. Always.
